Summary: In Saudi Arabia some Arabian oryx are keep in semi-captivity and bred for later reintroduction into the wild. Therefore the highest rates of growth and reproduction must be obtained. Biometric data concerning adult and new-born oryx are presented. The growth of the calves (weight, shoulder height, horns) is plotted, related to diet, daily weight increase, sexual maturity, and compared to the growth of other ruminants, domestic or wild.
